The subjects of my drawings tend to be the people with whom I have the most intimate connections. At the same time, my work depicts the human condition in a more universal sense. I am drawn towards implicit symbols and cues that suggest the dualities of existing in the world, and reveal the interplay between intimacy and alienation, attainment and loss, and interior and exterior modes of consciousness. My drawings are undeniably narrative, yet in an irresolvable sense. I often depict repeated perspectives and objects as a way to create dialogue among my images, and to suggest possible causalities and impulses underlying the static forms.
